The seasons of Szarvas - a city that shows a different face in every season

Deer give off a different atmosphere every season, and that's one of their greatest charms. It is not a „one-face” destination, but a place where nature, the waterfront and the tranquillity of a small town always adapt to the rhythm of the seasons. Return several times and you will discover a new Deer almost every time.

Deer in spring - nature awakening

Palov's Guesthouse opens its doors every year on 15 March, and our guests take advantage of this. In spring, the city and nature slowly awaken, one of the most peaceful times of the year.

A Szarvas Arboretum is particularly spectacular at this time of year: trees and flowers start to grow at the same time, the air is fresh and the whole environment becomes green and vibrant. More and more people are going for a long walk along the banks of the Körös, or bicycle tour, as the air is already pleasant, but there is no summer buzz, so everything is much quieter and more intimate.

At Palov's Guesthouse, the waterfront cottage is also a place where the forces of nature come into play - trumpet bushes bud, lily of the valley flowers grow, honeysuckle stretches across the fences. Ducks are already swimming around the pond - the little ones will be here soon:) The water is still calm and still, as swimming is not really possible at this time of the year.

By May, life will be in full swing, and if we're lucky and the weather stays warm, we'll be able to take a dip in the Körös.

Deer in summer - waterfront experiences and activities

Dead-Red Sea coast with rainbow

It's no surprise that summer is the peak season in Szarvas, the liveliest time of the year, when everything revolves around the water. The Dead River comes alive with the appearance of the SUPs, kayaks and canoes, and many simply spend the day floating on the water. The Szarvas Aquatic Theatre launches its repertoire in mid-June, with performances and concerts running until the beginning of September.

The days are long, the atmosphere is relaxed and the town becomes a real waterfront holiday resort, with thehe evenings are full of activities. If we are lucky, after a few rain showers we can see a beautiful rainbow in the sky:)

Deer in autumn - colours, tranquillity and Stag Days

The bank of the Dead Red River with a pier in Szarvas

Autumn is perhaps the most spectacular of the seasons in Szarvas, when the arboretum and the banks of the Körös River are bathed in gold, red and brown. The air is cooler, the pace slower, and the town begins to quiet down. This time of year is ideal for those who don't necessarily want to go to the beach, but to see the city, or calm leisure programmes organise. This is a particularly photogenic and peaceful time of year.

Let's not forget the About Harvest Days se! Every year in mid-September, Szarvas hosts this special 3-day festival, as the town of Szarvas has long been known as a famous fruit-growing region.

The Plum Days will feature a fair of local producers, plum jam making demonstrations and a variety of handicraft and gastronomic delicacies - from plum dumplings to jams and brandies. There will also be theatre, concerts and family events, making it a gastronomic, cultural and social event. The good news is that the Palov's guesthouse is only a 5-minute walk from the event venue.

If you want to taste the local flavours of Szarvas not only on the Szilvanapark, you can order the Tastes of Szarvas - Gastronomic Experience Package is.

After the summer hustle and bustle, many people choose Palov's guesthouse for a little for a retreat, most often alone. There's nothing like getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Palov's Guesthouse is open until 15 October.

Deer in winter - a quiet, cosy city atmosphere

Dead-Cirque in winter

Winter shows a very different Deer. The waterfront is quiet, sometimes foggy, and there's more of a retreating, introspective atmosphere. We used to skate on the Körös as children - the cold was perhaps more persistent then, but there may be more examples of this in years to come.

The city doesn't stop, but it becomes more intimate, as if it were retreating to rest for a while. Concerts are held in the cinema building, the St Clare Spa It is particularly pleasant to bathe in the warm thermal waters, and the market is open to all on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Szarvas is completely different from the other cities in the lowlands

Deer show a different face in every season

The seasons of Szarvas together really show that this town is not just a summer destination, but a place that offers something different in every season. Deer full of secrets, once you get to know it, you often return not because of a specific programme, but because you want to see what kind of deer it will be next.
